Happy Wildwhim Soiree, everyone!! With the warmer seasons comes the wild winds of the Wildwhim Soiree. Winds blow heavily this time of year, picking up petals and creating intense windstorms. Some xyns enjoy wind surfing, while others just like to watch the tornadoes. Xyns with the wind element are powered up during this time, so daredevils often get their friends to pump up the windstorms! Magic is usually either intense or dull day by day, you never know what could happen! This is the result of tiny sprites and faeries messing with the magic sources. Popular activities are windsurfing, adventuring in search of wild magic, singing (as the winds carry their voices well) and vexyn strength tournaments! Vexyns are usually feeling competitive, amped up by the wild magic, so they compete in tournaments to see who's stronger!

Legendseekers part 4: Queenslayer

Legendseekers continues!

Two separate battles raged on. One at the border of the Corrupted Lands and the other at Moonreach’s outer wall. Knights had split between following Ryu or Yuhi, but more knights left to pursue the villain than stayed behind. 

The battle at the Corrupted Lands was explosive. Yuhi had tried to confront the strange villain, but as expected, an ambush awaited them. The knights fought tooth and weapon through the corruption beast attack. There were tons of corruption beasts attacking in a calculated fashion with strange eyes. They seemed possessed by a strange magic. Yuhi was caught by the villain at one point between several corruption beasts and nearly taken but fortunately there were enough knights to be able to save her at the last second. The villain got away and Yuhi’s front leg had a strange, magical wound on it. She collapsed as the choir of knights were heading back and needed to be carried back to Moonreach.

The battle outside of Moonreach’s walls went less well. Corrupted xyns with strange, voidlike cracks in their eyes were attacking. They were strong and coordinated and their corruption magic seemed more powerful. The lullay knights had to take extra time and care to heal any wounds and at one point; the choir of knights was overrun and a hole was broken in Moonreach’s outer wall. They were eventually able to push back the attackers but not recover all of the corrupted xyns. As the Moonreach choir was finishing up, they saw Yuhi’s choir coming back. 

Ryu rushed to her wife’s side and cried out in despair. She called Hush to her side and the two quickly rushed Yuhi to the Moonreach castle’s infirmary for treatment. A group of lullay knights was called to follow and the queens disappeared into the building. Samson quickly rounded up the rest of the knights and organized treating those who were injured and those who could still help clean up. 

After about a day, Ryu eventually appeared with Cavvy at the top of Moonreach’s castle where they broadcasted announcements. Almost every xyn in Moonreach gathered around the castle to listen. Messengers, reporters and newsxyns from all around waited with held breath to send the queen’s message throughout the lands. 

“My beloved xyns,” Ryu’s voice was projected with wind magic from xyns nearby, “Yuhi has been stricken with a strange corruption magic we do not recognize. We know now that the enemy has a strange relic that seems to amplify corruption magic and allow them control over those they strike with this magic. We’ve been able to suppress the side-effects for queen Yuhi but the wound will not heal. We believe we need to destroy the relic to remove the effects. This relic doesn’t seem to be from Lunerest’s dimension, we need help more than ever now.” Ryu’s normally melodic and soothing voice sounded strained and tired. “What’s more, these broken pieces we found throughout Lunerest seem to be some sort of ancient magic that was amplifying the moons’ energy.” Ryu’s tails lashed and her ears sunk, “We are not sure how to repair it… or find another.” She took a deep breath and looked around at all the xyn’s fearful faces, “I know everything is frightening, but we will find a way to fight back. We will capture this villain and we will restore Lunerest’s power.” her voice was filled with hope. “We of course need to come together and find and capture this villain and restore power to the moons. It will not be easy, I know you’re all tired and drained but I will do everything in my power to protect us. Starting today, I will be working with the knights who volunteered to sustain a barrier around Moonreach. We will have xyns coming from all over to stay here until it’s over. I will be using my magic to sustain the barrier as much as possible. Cavvy will take and deliver messages from me. Yuhi will remain under constant care. Please meet with Hush if you wish to help with the barrier and Oberon’s research to fix the magic and new corruption. We will be doing research into what we can do about the villain. Thank you all.” With that last word, Ryu ducked her head into a bow and flew to the outer part of Moonreach. A loud, soothing hum began and the iridescent barrier slowly raised around Moonreach. The joints in the barrier sparkled like stars and the barrier had a soothing, moonlight glow to it.

The stars shine brightest this time of the year, they're almost bright enough that it looks like daytime in Lunerest! The xyns celebrate by holding carnivals and visiting the highest peaks of mountains where star shrines are located. The carnivals usually consist of games to win prizes, food and performances like concerts! The shrines are often in very remote, quiet areas. Xyns bring offerings to the stars and spend time with loved ones under the increased light. Who knows, they might see a shooting star to grant their wishes!

Legendseekers part 3: Whispers of the Corrupted

Legendseekers continues!

It started with just a report or two of strange corruption beast activity. They were seen swarming, working together and gathering around a strange figure. A figure that looked like a xyn. Corruption beasts weren’t known to work together very much, so this strange behaviour was alarming to say the least. The queens gathered with their most trusted to discuss what to do. Their biggest fear was corruption sweeping over Lunerest like it had thousands of years ago before the queens brought peace. With the knights so busy- corruption had been wreaking havoc upon Lunerest. More cases were reported every day and the Lullay Knights were exhausted trying to heal everyone, fix buildings, search and handle general attacks. Corruption beast attacks seemed more targeted and tons of corruption beasts were being seen together attacking. There were more and more corrupted xyns to deal with on top of the beasts every night.

What’s worse- not much had been discovered about the relic itself. Xyns knew now that it had something to do with intensifying the moons’ power. It needed to be repaired. Oberon attempted to research it as much as he could but his knowledge and guidance was needed elsewhere. He was constantly being pulled away. Knights had said they saw corruption beasts carrying what looked similar material to the strange fragments knights had been finding around Lunerest. The pieces seemed to have been touched by Trellisa and Oborn at some point, but what was the purpose of these broken relics?

And who was that mysterious figure the knights kept seeing? The queens have been alive for thousands of years at this point and were having trouble remembering anyone who fit the description. The figure seemed to be able to communicate with the corruption beasts somehow. That figure could be at the center of everything. Yuhi insisted the figure be investigated thoroughly, Ryu wanted more focus on defense and healing. What will your xyn do to help?

spright's shop has been restored!!!!

The queens, Moonreach and Lunerest thank everyxyn dedicated to helping restore Spright's shop. It has been rebuilt and Spright was captured in the Perilunal Plains. Unfortunately, Spright was corrupted but he was healed by a team of Lullay Knights. He bears scars of his corruption but he's back to sell goods for charms!! Thank you everyone!!!! Happy Luckflower Ball! Lunerest is covered in flowers and plant-life and the xyns are ready to celebrate! Huge parties and balls are held, covered in flowers grown by the pixyns of Lunerest. There's a ton of dancing, fancy outfits and fine dining. The world is just covered in tons of colourful and vibrant foliage, so xyns are often invited to tour gardens, pick some flowers and maybe find some lucky charms like 4 leaf clovers or special coloured flowers! Flowercrowns are worn often, the xyns believe adorning themselves in plants will bring them luck!

Spright is missing

During the chaos; corrption beasts have managed to attack Moonreach several times. Knights have been away trying to find clues and information which has left the cities rather under-guarded. 
Recently; Spright's shop was attacked and destroyed and now Spright is missing. Royal knight scouts said they've seen what they think is Spright corrupted near the border of the Perilunal Plains. Spright needs to be rescued and his shop needs to be rebuilt.

Then, xyns start to trickle in with hints. Many bring shattered pieces of a strange material with them. Upon studying them, they seem to be powerful conductors of moonlight magic and they seem to have been broken on purpose. Oberon muses that something ancient has broken and needs to be put back together. Whatever the item(s) were, they’re shattered beyond recognition. Help is needed almost everywhere. Will your xyn focus on helping figure out how to put these relics back together? Will they pitch in to help with the disruption around Lunerest? Are they looking for whatever broke these relics and why?

Happy Rainbowstorm Renaissance! The rumblings of the rainbowstorms have begun and daring xyns are once again out storm chasing! The rainbow lightning and warmer air has all of Lunerest excited. Lenlong parade

A new species of little dragonlike companions have sprout up among the new plantlife in Lunerest this year! Lenlongs are small dragonlike creatures that have different types of flowers growing on their small antlers. They're most often seen sleeping among huge flowerbeds in Pixiehome. They're a calm and intelligent companion that have magical floral abilities. Gardener xyns like to keep them around! They're harbingers of spring and renewal. Their flowers have magical healing properties.

To celebrate the lenlongs, a parade in Pixiehome has been organized! Can your xyn help with the preparations? Are they decorating floats? Caring for the lenlongs? Maybe they're in the parade themselves?

Oh heyyy, I know it's only been a week but I have a few things I've added and I wanted to let everyone know. LOL

lore rolodex page

We finally have a Lore Rolodex page where you can find different lore scattered throughout the site! It's pretty barebones right now but I will be updating it throughout the year! There's a tiny bit of new info scattered among the pages, I'll be updating the more bare pages this year! It's been added under "Info" in the site menu.

Relics

I've added a new item category called "Relics". These will be collectable items obtained in events kinda like badges! They'll be added to your xyn's inventory and will be character-locked. The first three are for choosing different paths in Legendseekers! (Also it will help me keep track haha.)

moonstone shop update

The moonstone shop will now stock old, retired plushies. The rarer ones will be more expensive! We'll also have moonstone-shop exclusive plushies, the first one being the Kiba plushie! The moonstone shop has been updated.

Happy Frostfall Festival! The xyns of Lunerest are getting used to the chilly weather! There's lots of snow and ice around during this time, so many snow/ice-sculpting contests are held! Xyns take great pride in their art, and there's competitions with wonderful prizes throughout the month. Xyns also celebrate the falling of new snow by having get-togethers and singing songs. Sometimes xyns will leave offerings for the snow gods on top of huge mountains! However, during the winter months, the wilds get more dangerous. There's predators looking to prey on xyns during this time so xyns are extra vigilant to bring trained guards when going out!

Legendseekers part 1: the moons wane

This year, we're doing a multi-part, lore-heavy prompt chain called Legendseekers.

Legendseekers will be a series of prompts that happen every 2 months this year. There will be a long-standing story that your xyn follows! You must use the same xyn for the entirety of Legendseekers. Each section will disappear after two months and your xyn must have completed the previous prompt to continue the story. You may only complete these prompts once per user. There will be a difficult catch-up mechanic at the end of the series of prompts. 

Each prompt will get a custom roleplayed response when approved, please keep these secret until the next Legendseekers prompt comes out!!!! You'll be able to share once the next prompt is revealed. This will transfer to every Legendseekers prompt in the future, so for Legendseekers part 2, you wouldn't be able to share roleplay responses until Legendseekers part 3 comes out but you're free to share the information you got from Legendseekers part 1!

Your xyn's choices and actions will have an impact on the overall story.

The prompt kicks off with the first prompt: The Moons Wane. Two of Lunerest's moons seem to be losing power and the queens cannot find a solution. Your xyn has been called upon to help!

This prompt has a lot of writing/requirements as well as branching paths so please be sure to read the prompt thoroughly!!!!

new Trait tier + traits(+?)

Suneater's Curse didn't really fit well into the "Majesty" trait category so we're introducing the Mythos trait tier! This is reserved for extremely rare traits with multiple effects like the Suneater's Curse.
Along with that we're introducing Moonstricken, you can read more about it on the Illnesses and Afflictions page! It will be rarely obtainable via Legendseekers.

New rare traits for vexyn and pixyn!

Serrated Fangs are now available to vexyn via rare trait sticker.
No Antennae are now available to pixyn via rare trait sticker.

There are also new trait potions mixed into the prize pools for Legendseekers that I won't announce here, but you can sniff around the encyclopedia if you're curious!!!!
There are also new companions mixed into the Legendseekers pool, more items may or may not be added into the loot pools with new prompts.

faefolk mounts

Faefolk are getting a new companion type this year, mounts! They'll be worth more currency than normal companions when drawn with your faefolk. You'll be able to find mounts for sale in Patchwork's Shop! There will be new mounts for each season this year. The winter mount is the Rime Beast!!!!

Faefolk aren't as good as getting around as xyns- they have less magic, stamina and aren't very fast with their little legs. Faefolk are very in tune with nature so they're easily able to tame and communicate with the fauna of Etoille! Intense tack for mounts isn't popular and they're treated with utmost respect.

Happy New Year, Lunerestians!!!! I am so grateful to every one of you!!!! Lunerest has grown bigger than I could ever imagine and I'm eternally grateful for you all that like to participate in my world!!

This year, I will be focusing on lore, site improvements and lore-heavy events as evidenced by Legendseekers. There will be less new traits and items, but I'm hoping that the lore and site features more than make up for it!!!! (there may also be some unannounced items as prizes in some of the loot pools of Legendseekers...👀) I will be compiling lore and adding a lore rolodex where you can click links to find lore. I'll be releasing more lore and lore pages and hopefully this year we'll be upgrading to Lorekeeper v3!! There will likely be site downtime when we look to switch so the advent calendar might be a bit wonky. We will definitely announce the planned downtime!

I probably won't be doing adopts every month like I used to and will just do sales when I feel like it!!!!

I've dipped my toes into making games like Sparkle Derby and will be focusing more time/effort into that this coming year. 

There will likely be reruns of old events this year alongside Legendseekers. I hope you all enjoy what I've cooked up and I look forward to another excellent year of Lorenerest, I mean, Lunerest.
